UPDATE: Ensigns say the darnedest things:
“At sea, a workday can be 12, 13, 14 hours a day,” Ensign Rick Chernitzer says. “And that’s mainly because there’s nothing else to do at sea.”And I always thought all those watches and things were because somebody had to drive the ship when everyone else was sleeping. Silly me. I guess the Midwatch is held just to give idle hands something to do between midnight and 0400.
