What you need to know about Joe "Wrong Way" Biden

He has people calling him a statesman, but in almost every important matter in the last 30 years, he has been, quite simply, as set out in a piece by Peter Wehner, completely wrong:
In fact, decade after decade and on important issue after important issue, Mr. Biden's judgment has been deeply flawed.
Against supporting South Vietnam after the U.S. troop withdrawal, in favor of massive military cuts, against helping anti-communist rebels in Nicaragua, against missile defense systems, against the freeing of Kuwait from Saddam Hussein, in favor of intervention in Kosovo (so was McCain), for the partition of Iraq, in favor of sending a couple of billion dollars to the "Arabs" in Iran (to show what? Good faith? And, by the way, Senator, the Iraninans aren't Arabs...), in favor of a dangerous form of "engagement" with Iran (see here), and against the surge in Iraq.

Everyone makes mistakes. But it is hard to find a single person, recognized for his alleged expertise in an area, in which almost every stance he has taken has proven to be the wrong position - often a position that has or would have resulted in the deaths of thousands of people or in the weakening of the defenses of the United States.
