Simple Geography

Of course, there is never anything simple, but sometimes it takes someone stating the obvious to focus attention in the right place (You know, like "Why is the emperor naked?" Got the attention of that exalted being). So, along comes Robert Kaplan with one of those things - in this case, an op ed in the Wall Street Journal, "Geography Strikes Back":
If you want to know what Russia, China or Iran will do next, don't read their newspapers or ask what our spies have dug up—consult a map. Geography can reveal as much about a government's aims as its secret councils.
Read it.

It won't hurt and there will not be quiz afterwards.

For example, next time when invading landlocked country, analyse supply routes into it, number of the boots on the ground needed and if the supply capacity doesnt match the garrison needs, "JUST DONT DO IT"...

    1. Some people enjoy a challenge - especially when the gauntlet was tossed on 9/11 from some people in a landlocked country with problematic supply routes.

I have to completely agree with Captain Tempest, they asked for this. To think a response would not occur as a result of 9/11 is absurd. The only problem I have is the manner in which the response was given. We tried to do the initial response on the cheap, and most of the main characters were able to escape.

Afghanistan should have been the second "nation" we dropped nukes on and our President should never have repeated the lie that islam is a religion of peace.
