A local legion air force vet once told a story at a training facility that had all four branches of the service represented. The Marines were by far the best at marching to and from class. The Army was second best, and the Air Force not so much, however the Navy guys would just walk in a group smoking and joking to and from class. The base commander stopped the Navy guys one day to chastise them only to learn that they never marched since boot camp. Not enough room on board ship.
