My Review: Act of Valor

ACT OF VALOR is a movie about Navy SEALS that highlights and honors Navy SEALS.

Along the way, the rest of the Navy - the submariners, Special Boat Units, helicopter units, ships and other things are shown off. Lots of good pictures.

If you have a warrior ethos, you will get this movie.

If you are a conflicted film critic who sits watching cinema all day - probably not so much.

Good guys, bad guys cleanly divided.

Not "nuanced" in the liberal sense.

Recommended for the 9% warrior class of the U.S.

Will probably make Nancy Pelosi's head explode if she were to see it.

So, good flick.

P.S. Don't worry about the acting, it suffices. Actually, it's better than in a lot of "big" movies you've seen.

  1. People, when you go to see this movie, at the end of the movie a rather surprisingly long roll call of all the SEALs who have died since 9/11. Please for the love of God, STAND UP and show some respect for these heroes as their names roll. It's the least you can do to render honor.

  2. I saw the movie and thought it was an excellent portrayal of many aspects of NSW ops (all open sourced) and the way of life they and their families have to live. Damn fine movie!

  3. Mark-

    I followed the "9%" link.

Did ya notice how the Census Bureau categorized the question of "What percentage of US population has served in the military?"

    "Homelessness"

    No kidding....

Any way to force Pelosi to see the movie? Your comment gave me hope.
