Somali Pirates: Lawfare -"Maersk Alabama a ''crime scene''"

What happens when lawyers run things: Maersk Alabama a ''crime scene'':
THE US Federal Bureau of Investigation has declared the Maersk Alabama a “crime scene” after its arrival in Mombasa, Kenya on Saturday.

The FBI has launched a formal investigation into the pirate attack in the Indian Ocean on Wednesday, which brought the scourge home to ordinary Americans.

The Maersk Alabama crew of 19, all US citizens, will be required to remain on board the 1998-built, US-flag, 1,092 teu containership during the investigation, and would not be accessible to outsiders or media.

John Reinhart, president and chief executive of Maersk Line Limited, said on Saturday afternoon in Norfolk, Virginia: “The FBI is in control. The ‘rescue’ phase is over, and now we are in the ‘investigation’ phase.
Really? How much of an investigation is needed? There are 4 pirates in a lifeboat with the captain of the ship. Res ipsa loquitur.
